hai! i’m winxp user. i like to avoid the restarting of pc after changing setting like hostname,etc., and update of antivirus,etc., can i avoid restarting the pc and the affects have to be applied.
to avoid restarting computer if i change and recomplie the regedit can i avoid the rebooting?

No. The regedit program just edits the registry. The reason you need to reboot is because the various windows components whose behavior you are trying to change only read the registry when they start up.

there are other services and applets that need to load referencing the new data
some of these services are the backbone of windows and can not be interrupted
better to allow everything to load referencing the latest everything

You can but it’ll more than likely frag your registry and cause problems. It’s just the price to pay.
